Have you ever felt like you're giving everything you've got, yet still being overlooked? The frustration isn't necessarily because you're doing something wrong—you might be doing exactly the right thing, just in the completely wrong place.

This episode dives deep into the costly nature of misalignment in our lives. When we operate in spaces that weren't designed for our expansion, we end up shrinking ourselves, dimming our light, and minimizing our gifts. Through vulnerable personal stories, including being in the wrong tier of a professional membership and even losing a job, we explore how these seemingly negative experiences can become catalysts for tremendous growth when we finally find alignment.

The truth is painfully simple: many of us are "planting seeds in soil that had no intention of growing anything but comfort." We seek validation from rooms that don't understand our language, our light, or our capabilities. But the moment we give ourselves permission to leave these spaces—whether they're jobs, relationships, or communities—everything shifts. Opportunities flow, growth accelerates, and we find ourselves surrounded by people who genuinely see us.

This episode challenges you to audit the spaces you occupy and honestly assess whether they reflect your worth and support your growth. Are you dimming your light to fit in? Are you surrounded by people whose frequency matches your aspirations? Remember, you're not behind—you're just overdue for finding the right table. Your light deserves space to shine. Hey, hey, hey. You are now tuned in to the it's the Human Experience podcast. Welcome back. It's the space where evolution is not only safe but it's celebrated. We're not playing over here. If episode 74 hit something deep for you, today we're going even deeper.

Speaker 2:

And if you haven't tuned into 74, I need you to go back, because sometimes I hate to say it, I'm going to say it with love You're not behind. You're just in the wrong rooms, in the wrong spaces, sitting at the wrong tables, and sometimes you're just at the wrong level. That table, that space, that level was never meant for you, but it's still your calling, and so I just want to start with you're not behind, you're just in the wrong space. You're just in the wrong room. You might just be at the wrong level and, let's be honest, that is misalignment, and misalignment is costly, and I need you to make sure that you're not missing opportunities, minimizing your gifts, shrinking in rooms and spaces that were made to make that happen for you. Because you were made to expand, honey, let's talk about that. You were made to expand Seriously. Have you ever felt like you were giving everything you had and you're still being overlooked? Like you were pouring from a full cup but no one's sipping it, no one's buying the sauce, no one is really realizing what you embody and what your value truly is. And it's not always about working harder, it's about elevating into your environment and I really want to sit in that.

Speaker 2:

Recently I had a conversation because I was a part of a membership. I'd been a part of this membership for a year Really fancy name, really things that make you think okay, this is a place for me. I didn't use it. I didn't use any component of this membership and in hindsight I thought, because this was an association that was going to allow me to be around like-minded women, it was going to help to propel me to the next level. But what I recognized is I was in the wrong tier of their membership. I am the person who creates. I am the person who pours into other people. I am the person that creates that safe space to other people. I am the person that creates that safe space. So, being that person, I was in an environment.

Speaker 2:

In the portion of the membership I was in, I was supposed to soak up what was being given, but I had already created programs, processes, experiences and been a part of making change and trainings and things, not only in my nine to five but also in my own business. So I very much felt like it was a waste of money, time, energy and everything. So I share that story because, fast forward a year later and just kind of dismissing that membership and knowing that I'm not going to waste my time with that, they called me and asked me why haven't you considered being a part of the membership where you're actually providing the influence, you're actually helping people get to the next level, you're actually using your voice to make change and impact? And I said, wow, all of this time I've been a part of something that I knew I was meant to be a part of, but I was at the wrong level. I was at the wrong level. I was in the right place, but at the wrong level, at the wrong table. How does that look for you?

Speaker 2:

What I've learned from walking into spaces that couldn't hold me and I want you to reflect on today is sometimes your frustration isn't because you're doing the wrong thing. It's because you're doing the right thing in the wrong place. Let's be real. There's been times before that where I felt like I was being overlooked and I'm going to take you back. The truth is, I was planting seeds in soil that had no intention of growing anything but comfort. I've been in a space to where I provided so much value and I was able to do all the things. And when I lost my job yes, guys, I lost my job I lost my nine to five the day after election day. I'll talk more about that in the next episode.

Speaker 2:

I just wanted to share what I've recognized is that sometimes we're in spaces that have no intention of growing anything but the comfort within us. Sometimes we're seeking external validation from rooms that didn't even understand our language. They don't understand our light, they don't understand our power and our capabilities, and the minute you leave these rooms, the minute I gave permission to myself to level up, everything shifts. When I say everything shifts, the podcast has grown like no one's business. I shared with you in previous episodes that we were ranked 63 out of top 100 podcasts.

Speaker 2:

Opportunities continues to flow when you are in alignment. I started having conversations with people who saw me, they got me, they saw the light and they understood the vision. But that would not have happened if I didn't come out of the wrong place, both in the example of the membership and in the example of my past role, because if I go deeper into the past role, like I said, you'll hear about it a little bit in the next episode, but for this episode, I want you to know that it's always that people see your light. You're just not in a space to be able to shine it. So it's your job to make sure that you see when you need to get into a space that allows you to shine your light, so that you can stop dimming your light. And I'll say that that takes a lot of discernment, because it's always not the perfect time to shine your light.

Speaker 2:

Sometimes you could be in a season that it's time to keep your light dim. It's time to get the tools that you need so you could be even sharper and brighter in your next season. But only you know that internally, and when you need to shift and sometimes when your discernment is not where it needs to be, god will shift you out of it and I need you to be okay with that shift. I need you to be okay with realizing when you are being released, when your time is no longer a thing in that season, in that space, in that relationship, in that job, in that space, in that relationship, in that job, in that environment, in that neighborhood, in that friendship, in whatever that looks like for you.

Speaker 2:

Don't waste another season in a space that's not built for your expansion. You deserve to expand, you deserve to evolve, you deserve to show up unapologetically as you and not dim your light. So there's something that I want you to sit with. I want you to sit with this question Am I in alignment with the level my purpose requires? And I'm not asking you a question that's too deep. It's a real question If you are supposed to be doing the thing or being the thing, which means you're not doing anything, but you're being still, you're being quiet, you're reflecting and figuring out who you are and where you want to go in that still season, you don't need to be busy and booked. You need to be sitting in your feelings, your thoughts and what makes sense to you in your next level of life thoughts and what makes sense to you in your next level of life.

Speaker 2:

Now, if you're in your action season, you need to be doing the things that are required to make the dream manifest into reality and if you know that this was given to you by God and you know that this is the Holy Spirit working, then you're not being dramatic, you're not asking for too much, you're asking for alignment. You're not asking for too much. You're asking for alignment. You're asking to call into the things that align with your frequency and where you are in this world. If the people around you are tapped into fear and limitation and negativity, then that's going to come through for you. So you have to make sure that you're not in the wrong rooms, you're not with the wrong people and you find the frequency that matches your future. And if that means leaving the table, leaving the job, leaving the relationship, leaving the thing, the friendship, the place, all the things, then leave it. Build your own, set that intention and know that you have one life. Elevate your standard, change the rooms you enter, be comfortable leaving these rooms and watch your level shift and your whole life shift. What I'm asking you to do is to really audit the spaces you're in, ask if they reflect your worth, your growth and your future. You're not behind. You're just overdue for the right table, the right room, the right levels and shameless plug.

Speaker 2:

But this podcast, it's the Human Experience Podcast it's one of those tables. It's a place where the truth is honored, healing is welcome, legacy is built. And listen, if you've been to a workplace therapy experience event, you know that it is the same concept, but just an in-person experience where we're finding our place in who we are, not in what we do for work. We're helping each other win, we're pushing each other forward, we're unapologetic about who we are, the gifts that we were given and the places that we're headed, and we're supporting each other to make it happen.

Speaker 2:

If this hits home for you, I need you to share this with someone who needs that reminder that their time isn't up. Their time is now. They are just getting started. I need you to protect your energy, trust the timing of your life and keep showing up because the right rooms are already being prepared for your arrival. So I need you to stand up in that truth and know who and whose you are and go make it happen for yourself. I am rooting for you. I need you to root for you and do the work. Now. Let's go.
