What if the pressure you’re under isn’t here to break you — but to reveal you?

In this episode of It’s the Human Experience, Hazel Brown speaks straight to your soul about what it really takes to thrive in hard seasons. With raw truth and fire, she delivers the rhythm you need to hear: be prepared for critics, challenges, and sacrifice — but above all, be prepared to never quit.

You’ll discover:

  • Why pressure isn’t failure — it’s refinement.
  • The link between performance, stress, and brain health (Cleveland Clinic research).
  • Why worry drains you, giving up disqualifies you, and over-performing burns you out.
  • How faith, trust, and purpose can protect your peace, your future, and even your brain.

This episode isn’t fluff — it’s a call. If you’ve been tired, tempted to stop, or stuck in self-doubt, this is your reminder: you’re not buried, you’re planted. And planted things grow.

✨ Don’t just listen — share this episode with someone who’s carrying weight today. Because the word that saved you might be the one that saves them, too.

SPEAKER_01:

Hey, hey, hey, you are now tuned in to the It's the Human Experience podcast. Oh my goodness, guys. I hope you've been loving the guest episodes. I've had some really amazing guests on like Coach Lorraine Lindsay. Oh, we're gonna call her the Lorraine Lindsay now. If you tune into the episode, you already know what I'm talking about. If you've listened to Jessica, like that was such a dope episode. Like the transparency was just like really good. Bella Rose, she's not only in, like, we're not doing Target anymore, but she's in Walmart with her home goods and that purpose-driven products. Jasmine talking about all the things and creating becoming her magazine, and just going from being a stay-at-home mom to a mom that shows her children that they can do anything and a mom that continues the legacy from her grandmother, like such great conversation, like so many great episodes, so many amazing people. If you haven't tuned in to the last couple episodes, I need you to go ahead and get caught up. I need you to go ahead and catch us on YouTube because yes, we are on YouTube now. So if you're the kind of person that likes audio because you're driving to work, you're at the gym, you're walking, or whatever the case may be, continue to listen to us on audio. But if you are that visual person that likes to see, feel the energy, catch the facial expressions, the wittiness, the spunkiness, all of it. I need you to go follow us on YouTube at Redivining the Future View because the conversations are conversing, and I need you to go ahead and catch it. And I had to start there because I was like, wait, hold up. You know, I used to say scroll on up to the top and follow us to subscribe if you're not already following. And I still need you to do that. Listen, pause for a moment, and if you're not currently following the podcast, be sure to make sure that you're subscribed, following all the things so that you don't miss out on these amazing episodes. But outside of that, I just wanted to make sure that you knew that we are also on YouTube. All right, good. So we're gonna go ahead and jump into the episode because I don't do the fluff, but I definitely want to make sure I started there, and I feel like right now, like, stress is screaming, critics are loud, internal critics, right? The weight sometimes feels unbearable. And you know, I think sometimes we whisper to ourselves, I know I have like I just can't do this anymore because sometimes with all the chaos, all the things going on in the world, it just feels so heavy. I know recently, I'm gonna be real, right? Real transparent. One day I was like seeing something on socials from someone else who does events, and she was like, She's done with events, and I was like, Yeah, me too, God, I'm done with events. And like a couple days later, I'm like, girl, no, that's not your calling. You are not done with the you are not done with events, and so with that, you know, maybe it's something that you're experiencing where you're like, you're done with the thing, just because it's too much, it's too heavy. You're ready for your next chapter, you're ready for your next thing. But the truth is, quitting guarantees that you'll never see what was built for you. The fact that you're listening right now means that you're not finished, you're closer than you think. And I just want you to know this episode is gonna be a word for the wary, the one who's tired of fighting, right? And when you need to hear, like, don't stop now. Like, I'm gonna give it to you. Because I just want you to realize like all of this is really preparing us, like the tests, the messy middle, the mediocre, right? I heard Michelle Obama recently mentioned in something that I saw on socials actually, how most of life is not that entertaining, it's not that fun, and you have to learn how to deal with the parts. It's just like continues to help us build the muscle to get to where we're trying to be. And I just want you to remember that. Like, so if you're serious about living in your purpose, the reality check that no one tells you is that you just gotta be prepared. You gotta be prepared for the hurdles, the obstacles, the challenges, the pivots, constant pivots, the silent doubts, like living in the eye of the storm, but not getting lost in it. You gotta be prepared to stay focused on the distracting noise that you hear from other people, that you hear from just things not working out the way you want it to work out. You gotta be prepared for the critics, like you gotta be prepared to move forward no matter what. And I say move forward no matter what, because sometimes you'll be sacrificing, but you gotta be prepared to sacrifice for those who depend on you. Like you, you depend on you. If you have children, they depend on you. If you're married, they depend on you. But most importantly, you depend on you, and like being able to feel like you are standing up to things that you know you were chosen for. It's gonna come with sacrifice, it's gonna come with hardship, it's gonna come with obstacles because the reality is no matter if you do what you're called to do or not, you're still going to feel the thing. I don't know. I just feel like you need to be prepared, iron the parts that make you want to crumble, that make you want to stump over, like to really just put that fire where it needs to be, and just be prepared to never quit. Like ever, never ever quit because refusing to quit is really what's gonna separate you from those who choose to collapse under pressure. And it's not to judge, it's just to know that if you know that you are called for something, we don't fall, we don't give up just because it's hard, because we didn't expect for it to be easy. I know for me, like sometimes when you're going through the thing, right? You're going through the rough patches, the messy middle, the mediocre mundane Mondays, and all the things, it can feel like you're failing, like this is not working out. Did I take the wrong turn? Where is the GPS? Because oh my god, and there's just no blueprint, there's no roadmap, there's no none of it. You just have to trust your internal compass, the voice, the Holy Spirit to guide you, and just know like the pressure that you're under isn't proof that you're feeling, it's proof that you're being shaped. We talked a lot on the episode with Jessica about diamonds and how they're only formed under pressure. So if you haven't tuned into that, go ahead and tune into that after you tune into this, right? But seeds are only there to grow after it's being buried, right? So you're in the garden planting the seeds, putting the soil over the seed, putting a little water on it. You can't put too much because you don't want to ruin it, right? But it takes time and it's dirty and it's messy, and then it still takes time. And the reality is that under that fire, not outside of it, right? Because we're still underground as that seed, that's where the progress is happening, not on the outside of that. We talked about that even on the episode with Keandra. I think that was episode 79, and her first episode was 66. Like we really got into that, the souls of who we are, and all of the work that goes into like the planting of the seed. If you're in the thick of it, I need you to hear me. You're not buried, you're not behind, you're not missing anything. You are where you need to be, you are being planted, and things that are planted, guess what they do, guys? They grow. Like, I I recently actually I I want to kind of digress a little bit, but really, this is important. Like, I recently was able to get Cleveland Clinic to be part of my upcoming event on October 11th in Las Vegas, October 11th, Las Vegas. Um, it's gonna be beautiful, right? Call for more empowerment and mental wellness summit. So, yes, shameless plugs for that. But I'm gonna have Cleveland Clinic there, and they're really gonna talk through some things that I feel like are really important. And it's more than like that soul talk, it's like science, right? Science is proving that what faith has already shown and known is really true, and so essentially Cleveland Clinic is gonna be a part of the event because they're gonna talk through like brain health and just the importance of really not putting unnecessary pressures on ourselves, the importance of balance, the importance of just letting go of burnout and performance culture. And so, with that, I really wanted to share some stats with you. So I gotta get my little notes, right? Okay, so Cleveland Clinic found that nearly one in three adults screened already had early signs of cognitive decline, right? That's wild. They launched a brain study with 3,600 healthy adults that track their memory, resilience, and performance over time, and dementia cases. And the reality is we're not working this hard to not remember it. So clearly, I'm not a psychologist. Clearly, I don't have a PhD yet. Soon we will have that, right? Soon, soon manifesting it and gonna work for action, yes. And so, with that, they've recognized that there is some sense of correlation. So if you are in the Las Vegas area or you want a reason to come to Las Vegas, I need you to come join us on October 11th because the real professionals are gonna get into all of that. And it matters because how we manage stress and performance today literally rewires our future brain. And I mean, the reality is overperforming burns you out. Worry really steals your peace, and giving up really takes you out of the race. So it's like it's not all or nothing, but you have to trust, you have to make sure you have faith, you have to rest, and you just have to know that you have to protect your mind, protect your spirit, and that faith is brain health, right? I guess it's brain health now that we're talking about like the scientific correlation between the thing, but with faith, you don't worry. And so I just want you to understand like the importance of your future health is really extremely important because I just don't believe that I'm working this hard to not remember it, to not remember what I see, to not see the harvest, right? To not see the the forest, to not see the garden that I planted. And so I just wanted to make sure I share that they're gonna be there, they're gonna be talking about all the things. If you're interested in virtual options, I may have that. I'm I'm still working on that, right? Two weeks before the event, still working on that because I've had people reach out to say, like, I want to be in the room, but I don't want to come to Vegas. So DM me at it's human AF, right, on Instagram, because we've rebranded. Follow me on Instagram at it'shumanaf, dm me, let me know you're interested, and I'll try to make sure I make it happen. If you catch this after the event, make sure you DM me and I can definitely send you the replay information so that you can be able to grab that. But I just want to make sure that we're really growing together and we're getting all the information and the gems because the reality is yeah, if we knew that all of the things that we were doing was actually working against us, I think we would do things differently. And so I just want to make sure that you have the tools to take care of yourself, both now so that you're prepared for later. So here's my thing: stop worrying yourself, stop overperforming for applause. That does not matter, and whatever you do, just don't quit. If you're still here, you're called, if you're called, you're equipped, you're called for more. You're capable. There's an abundance of resources, an abundance of just growth, abundance in what can happen in your life, and this is not the end, it's really the setup. It's not a place to where you feel like, oh my goodness, I can't do it, even when you feel like you're in the place of I can't do it. So just keep trusting, keep pressing along, keep knowing that your next season is waiting for you on the other side of your perseverance, your resilience, your knowing that you are enough. When you look back at your life and think about just like younger you, she's proud. You've come such a long way with the cards that you were dealt. Now reshuffle those cards. Pull out your strengths, identify your weaknesses, find people who have strengths in your weaknesses, build a team. You don't have to do it alone. You shouldn't do it alone. Like God created all these people for you. Align yourself with people that have the values that you need, that have the heart that you need, have the traits that you need, the principles that you have, all the things, right? And know that once you decide take the action, believe, and keep going, you can absolutely do it. I want you to know that you're not alone with sharing the weight of the chaos. There's layoffs, there's business failures, there's just communication issues and relationships between friendships, associates, family, marriage, all the things. You don't have to carry all that weight because you're not going through it by yourself. This is something that is across the board happening, and so it's important to build yourself up with people who have the capacity to remind you that you're not alone and that you're gonna be okay. But I want to go back and make sure that now that we're kind of you know wrapping things up, you make sure you go over to YouTube and follow at Redivine the Future You. And if you're not a video person, hmm, there's somebody that wants to see you. So make sure you share us with your friends and your stories. Support me like I support you so that we can rise together because we can do hard things, we're not here to just survive. We are absolutely positively, listen, we're gonna make no words. We are here to thrive, and I want to see you win. You deserve it, we deserve it, and we're gonna do it together.
